My feelings are 1) The mayor should be running point, talking to the city d=
aily until the situation is resolved, there should have been/needs to be a =
public meeting, put on video for all to see where residents could ask quest=
ions and he could have a team to answer. His lack thereof shows extremely p=
oor leadership. I understand there are things you can't say at this point, =
that's why they have lawyers, but they should be as transparent as possible=
. 2) After the situation is resolved, we need accountability. If anyone lie=
d on inspections/forms, they need to be fired, not reprimanded. If the prob=
lem is systemic or neglectful, leadership needs to be replaced immediately.=
 The onus should be on public works to show they did everything right and t=
his was unavoidable, which I'm reluctant to believe at this point. I don't =
want a scapegoat, we need real accountablity. 3) An accountabilty/action pl=
an needs to be publicly posted as to exactly what happened and what's being=
 done to avoid future occurrences. These are public servants, all of this i=
nformation is covered under FOIA, we have a right to know. None of the publ=
ic servants have a right to privacy in disciplinary proceedings. They are p=
aid 100% with our tax money.
