Description of Course
The study of values that underlie the Christian pedagogical activity. The history of Christian education in the various periods of church history and the effects of the milieux of the periods on the values and methods of Christian Education. The delineation of a Biblical worldview that maintains Christian values in a changing world. Values in the contemporary milieux and the importance and means of teaching them.
Course Learning Objectives (In general terms, what the student should know at the end of the course)
Understand the historical and philosophical basis in Church history for the values taught through Christian education;
Understand the worldview that supports and validates the values of Christianity and the importance of teaching them;
Understand the value centered Christian life and the relation of Christian education to the inception and growth of the value centered life;
Understand the importance, imperative, and implementation of Christian education and the means and methods to enlarge its effects within and without the church.

Internet Resources (research on topics available from internet resources is recommended)
The student will complete an internet project on a subject of Christian education
approved by the professor. The project will be due 2 weeks before the end of the course;
Course Assignments (specific activities the student must do to complete the course and accomplish the course objectives)
The student will read each textbook in the order in which they are listed above;
The student will complete a University book review form for each course textbook;
The student will complete and be prepared to discuss assigned content related questions following the completion of each textbook.
The student will complete an internet project on a subject of Christian education
approved by the professor. The project will be due 2 weeks before the end of the course;
The student will complete a mid term examination and a final examination
Course Grade based on reading, assignments, reports, and tests
